Epoxy Flooring

Epoxy Flooring

A durable epoxy floor begins below the coating. MANTERA assesses the slab, moisture, contamination and required performance, then defines the mechanical preparation, repairs, levelling and complete coating build before installation.

Built From the Slab Up — Preparation Confirmed Before Any Coating Goes Down

An epoxy floor is only as durable as the preparation underneath it. MANTERA tests moisture and adhesion, confirms the slab's condition, and builds the coating system to match your traffic, chemical and slip-resistance requirements — rather than applying a standard coating over an unconfirmed slab.

Best fit

This service fits approved garages, commercial facilities, service bays, warehouses, utility spaces and selected industrial or residential concrete floors needing a new resinous flooring system. It is not the right page for routine concrete cleaning or sealing without a new coating — see Concrete Floor Care for that. MANTERA is explicit that non-structural crack filling and levelling is distinct from structural slab repair, and that moving cracks may return even after treatment — this is a limitation of the material and substrate, not a workmanship shortfall.

Scope and method

Systems are scoped by branch: solid-colour epoxy and approved resinous systems, full-broadcast or partial decorative flake systems, and metallic epoxy finishes where suitable, with optional quartz or slip-resistant aggregate where offered. Preparation uses diamond grinding or shot-blasting/mechanical profiling matched to the specified coating, with dust-controlled edge preparation and removal of incompatible paint, adhesive, sealer or failing coating. Crack filling, joint treatment and spall patching, plus local surface levelling or approved self-levelling underlayment, address the slab before the primer, base coat, decorative/broadcast layer and compatible topcoat are applied. Coves, drains, colour, sheen, and chemical, abrasion, hot-tire and slip-resistance requirements are all specified up front, along with moisture and adhesion testing, temperature/dew-point control during cure, and a defined cure/reopening window. A mockup or test area is used before full installation, and warranty ownership and exclusions are documented clearly.

How it runs

Moisture and adhesion testing, plus a mockup or test area, confirm the system will perform before full installation. Temperature and dew-point are controlled during cure, and a defined shutdown/cure window is set before the space reopens. Warranty ownership and exclusions — including the distinction between non-structural crack filling and structural slab repair — are documented in writing before work begins, not assumed afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will epoxy fix cracks in our slab permanently?

Epoxy flooring can fill and level non-structural cracks and low spots as part of preparation, but this is a surface and preparation repair, not a structural one. Moving cracks in the underlying slab may return over time — MANTERA will explain this distinction before work begins rather than promising a permanent fix to a structural issue.

How long before we can use the floor after installation?

Cure and reopening timing depends on the system installed, temperature and humidity during cure. MANTERA sets and communicates a specific shutdown/cure window as part of the proposal, not a generic estimate.
